Four key benefits the NAB Rewards Signature Card

Enjoy exclusive travel perks

As a NAB Rewards Signature cardholder, you get access to a wide range of travel benefits. This includes free access to airport lounges when your flight is delayed for 60 minutes or more, both for domestic and international trips. Whether you’re flying locally or abroad, you can enjoy a relaxing experience with free food, Wi-Fi, and entertainment at selected airport lounges.

No international transaction fees

Say goodbye to extra costs when you shop overseas. With the NAB Rewards Signature card, there are no international transaction fees. This is perfect for globetrotters who want to avoid unnecessary charges while shopping or dining abroad.

Unlimited reward points

There is no cap on the number of NAB Rewards Points you can earn. Whether you’re shopping, traveling, or dining out, you can accumulate points without any limitations. For every eligible purchase, you’ll earn 1.5 NAB Rewards Points for each dollar spent up to $15,000 in a billing cycle, and 0.5 points for every additional dollar spent after that.

Mobile phone insurance

Protect your mobile phone with free mobile phone insurance. This covers accidental damage and theft, giving you peace of mind that your device is safeguarded while you go about your day.

Exclusive shopping at NAB Rewards store

Use your points at the NAB Rewards Store, where you can redeem them for a wide range of products including electronics, home appliances, experiences, and more. It’s the perfect place to get what you need and want, all with the points you’ve earned.

Comprehensive travel insurance

When you use your NAB Rewards Signature card to pay for your flights, you receive comprehensive travel insurance coverage. This includes both international and domestic travel insurance, ensuring you’re protected on your trips. Additionally, you’ll have rental vehicle excess insurance within Australia, adding extra protection for your vehicle rental.

Complimentary additional cardholder

You can add an additional cardholder to your account at no extra charge. This is perfect for couples or family members who can share the benefits of the card while keeping track of their individual spending.

Free insurance coverage

The NAB Rewards Signature card offers an extensive range of free insurance covers, including purchase protection insurance and extended warranty insurance. These protections give you extra security on items you purchase with your card, ensuring peace of mind for every purchase.
With a mix of flexible rewards, travel perks, and valuable protections, the NAB Rewards Signature Card is an ideal choice for frequent travelers and savvy shoppers alike.

Possible drawbacks

  • High annual fee : If you don’t use the benefits, this card has a high annual fee that is unworthy of paying.
  • High interest rates : If you don’t pay the entire balance each month, you can incur interest charges that can be costly.
  • Points limitations: While there are no limits on the points you can earn, the rewards system changes after you reach a limit, dropping from 1.5 to 0.5 points per dollar for purchases.
  • Eligibility for benefits: Some benefits, like the cell phone insurance and access to VIP lounges, require specific conditions and can be limited depending on the travel or insurance provider’s terms and exclusions.
  • Not compatible with Qantas points: This card does not allow for earning or redeeming Qantas Points, which could be a disadvantage for frequent flyers.

Is this card right for you?

If you travel frequently and charge a lot on your credit card, this card is an excellent option. The rewards and travel benefits can help you save money. But if you rarely use credit cards or don’t pay off the full balance every month, the lofty fees and interest may not be a good payoff.

Fees and charges this card

Spending requirement to waive monthly fee

While the $24 monthly fee can be waived if you spend $5,000 or more during your statement period, this may not be realistic for all cardholders, which could lead to a high ongoing cost.
As of April 14, 2025, the monthly fee will increase from $24 to $35. However, if you spend more than $5,000 in a statement period, the monthly fee will revert.

High interest rates

The 20.99% per year purchase rate and 21.74% per year cash advance rate are relatively high compared to some other credit cards, which means carrying a balance can become quite expensive.

It offers a 0% per year rate for 12 months on balance transfers, with a one-time 3% fee applied. After this period, any unpaid balance will be subject to the variable cash advance rate of 21.74% per annum.

In addition, the card offers up to 44 days interest-free on purchases, as long as the full balance is paid by the due date.
