Use solutions in this guide to fix the following issues on your Samsung Galaxy S24/S24+/S24 Ultra smartphone:

  • Calls going straight to voicemail

Note: Test the issue after applying each solution to check if it’s resolved.

Disable Do Not Disturb Mode

When Do Not Disturb mode is enabled, it silences incoming calls, and they may be routed directly to voicemail.

  1. Swipe down from top of the screen to bring the quick settings panel.
  2. Check and turn off Do Not Disturb option.

Alternate way:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Scroll down and tap Notifications.
  3. Select Do Not Disturb.
  4. Ensure the toggle switch is off.

Disable Call Forwarding

Call forwarding redirects your incoming calls to another number and if misconfigured, it may result in calls going to voicemail.

  1. Open the Phone app.
  2. Tap the three-dot menu (top-right corner) and select Settings.
  3. Go to Supplementary Services or Call Settings (varies by carrier).
  4. Tap Call Forwarding.
  5. Check each option (e.g., Always Forward, Forward When Busy, etc.) and ensure they are set to Disabled or your desired configuration.

Check Voicemail Routing Settings (Google Contacts Users)

This solution applies if you use the Google Contacts app. After 2023 update, Google Contacts allows routing specific contacts directly to voicemail.

  1. Open the Google Contacts app.
  2. Select the contact for which calls are routed to voicemail.
  3. Tap the three-dot menu (top-right corner) and choose View More.
  4. Scroll to the Route to Voicemail setting.
    • If it says “Unroute to Voicemail.” tap it and change to “Route to Voicemail”.
    • If the option is “Route to Voicemail”, leave it as it is.

Check for Connected Bluetooth Devices

When your phone is connected to a Bluetooth device (e.g., headphones, car systems), the ringtone may be played through the device, and you might miss the call, causing it to eventually go to voicemail.

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Go to Connections and tap Bluetooth.
  3. Check if a Bluetooth device is currently connected.
  4. If connected, disconnect it by tapping the gear icon next to the device and selecting Disconnect.
  5. Alternatively, disable Bluetooth entirely by toggling off the switch at the top.

Reset Network Settings

Warning: Resetting network settings will revert any changes you’ve made.

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Scroll down and select General Management.
  3. Tap Reset.
  4. Select Reset Network Settings.
  5. Tap on Reset again to confirm and wait for the phone to restart.

Try a Different SIM Card

  1. Power off your phone.
  2. Remove the current SIM card using the SIM ejector tool.
  3. Insert a different SIM card compatible with your carrier.
  4. Power on the phone.

If this resolves the issue, contact your carrier to replace your original SIM card.
