Follow the steps on this page to fix the following problems on your Samsung Galaxy S21/S21 Plus/S21 Fe/S21 Ultra.
- Apps do not open or load.
- Apps become unresponsive while working on them.
Important: Third-party apps will not work when your phone is in safe mode.

To fix issues with only one app, follow these steps:
- Clear the cache of the App:
- Open Settings app, go to Apps.
- Find the app that does not open/load/work and go to the Storage section
- Tap on Clear cache and confirm.
- Update the app:
- If the app was downloaded from the Google Play Store, open Google Play Store app.
- Search for the app name and check if an update is available.
- If an update is available, tap on the Update button to update the app.
- Clear app data (Warning: if not synced with your email, any data inside the app will be erased):
- Follow the same instructions mentioned in the 1st step.
- Instead of Clear cache, tap on Clear data and confirm.
- Re-install the app (Warning: if not synced with your email, any data inside the app will be erased):
- Open Settings app, go to Apps.
- Tap on the app.
- Tap on Uninstall and confirm.
To fix issues with only one app, follow these steps:
- Update all apps:
- Open Google Play Store.
- Tap on the profile icon at the top right corner.
- Tap on Manage apps and device.
- Under Updates available, tap on Update all button.
- Do a software update:
- Open Settings.
- Scroll down and tap on Software update.
- Tap on Download and install.
To fix the issue of apps not working with Wi-Fi, follow these steps:
- Check your Wi-Fi router:
- Restart your router.
- Check the internet speed of the router and try moving the router for better signal reception.
- Change the Wi-Fi router’s frequency to 2.4GHz.
- Try resetting the router (Warning: Changes made to the router settings will be lost).
If none of the above steps cover your issue, try the following steps:
- Clear system cache:
- Turn off your phone.
- Plug the charger in.
- Press and hold the power button + volume up button to enter the recovery mode.
- Use the volume keys to select the “Wipe cache partition” option and press the power key.
- Confirm the selection.
- Once the process is completed, you will see the recovery menu again. Select “Reboot system now” and press the power key to exit recovery mode.
- Do a factory data reset (Warning: Factory data reset erases all your personal data. Take a backup before proceeding):
- Open Settings app.
- Go to General management.
- Tap on Reset.
- Select Factory data reset.
- Confirm.
