Samsung has initiated the rollout of the January 2025 security update for the Galaxy S21 FE, enhancing the device’s security with a new firmware version.
The update (firmware version G990USQSEGXL4) is currently available for carrier-locked versions of the Galaxy S21 FE in the USA, specifically for users on AT&T and Dish Wireless networks. This security patch addresses vulnerabilities identified in previous software versions.
Users can check for the update by navigating to:
- Settings
- Software update
- abd tap on “Download and install”.
The Galaxy S21 FE was launched with Android 12 and the latest stable version is Android 14 (One UI 6.1). The device is expected to receive the Android 15 (One UI 7.0) update within the next 2-3 months after the release of Galaxy S25 series.
