The new Samsung Galaxy S25 series introduced major security feature, post-quantum cryptography, to protect user data from emerging quantum computing threats.

The Galaxy S25 is Samsung’s first smartphone series to utilize post-quantum cryptography (PQC). This technology uses cryptographic algorithms that are secure against attacks from quantum computers, which is a growing concern in cyber threats in the age of AI and interconnected devices.

Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, the Galaxy S25 can process most of its AI features directly on the device. This will minimize the need to send personal data to external servers. The device also has a Personal Data Engine that analyzes user data on-device without compromising privacy. This data is stored securely within Knox Vault, which now incorporates the new Post-Quantum Cryptography layer.

The Personal Data Engine can gather data exclusively from native Samsung applications and supports multiple languages. Users have full control over this feature, with options to customize its functioning through the Personal Data Intelligence menu. If users opt to disable this feature, all analyzed data will be deleted from Knox Vault immediately.

New and improved security options are also introduced with Galaxy S25. These include the Knox Matrix dashboard, improved Maximum Restriction settings, and improved Theft Protection capabilities.
