Galaxy S25 Launches with Enhanced Side Button Features in One UI 7.0
Samsung’s Galaxy S25 introduces new features for its side button, allowing users to access Google Gemini and perform various tasks with ease.
The side button on the Galaxy S25 can now be programmed for long press and double press actions. A long press will activate an AI assistant of the user’s choice, with Google Gemini set as the default. Options for the double press include launching the camera, opening Samsung Wallet, activating the torch, or even starting a voice recording. Users can also set the side button to open Samsung Notes or various modes and routines within the app.
Further customization is available, enabling users to specify the exact mode or function for each action. For example, when selecting the camera option, users can choose between different modes such as Photo, Video, Portrait, or Selfie. Additionally, the voice recorder can be configured to either open the app or start recording immediately.
This update presents a stark contrast to One UI 6.1.1, where users had limited options and could not access Gemini’s quick assistant view directly. Instead, they were restricted to launching specific apps or features without the enhanced functionalities introduced in the latest version.
