In a speed test conducted by YouTuber PhoneBuff, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra has outperformed the iPhone 16 Pro Max. This is the first time a Samsung smartphone has claimed victory in this competitive arena.

The speed test involved a robotic arm programmed to open a series of apps and games, subsequently reopening them in reverse order. The test revealed that the Galaxy S25 Ultra completed the challenge in 3 minutes and 7 seconds, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max took 3 minutes and 21 seconds.

Historically, Apple’s in-house chips consistently outperformed rivals from MediaTek, Qualcomm, and Samsung. However, Qualcomm’s recent Snapdragon 8 Elite chip using Nvidia CPU architecture, have significantly closed the gap, allowing Android devices like the Galaxy S25 Ultra win in CPU performance.
