Galaxy A16 5G Launches as First A1x Phone Without 3.5mm Headphone Jack

The Samsung Galaxy A16 5G has officially launched in the United States became the first model to remove the 3.5mm headphone jack in the A1x series.

In addition to this change, Samsung is promoting a bundle deal that includes the Galaxy A16 5G and the Galaxy Fit 3 fitness tracker for an additional $30. The Galaxy A16 represents Samsung’s continued trend of excluding the headphone jack, a move that began with the high-end Galaxy flagships in 2019 and has now reached its more affordable A1x lineup.

Despite the downsides of losing the headphone port, users may find benefits in adopting wireless earbuds, which offer additional features through the Galaxy Wearable app. It is also becoming a standard to drop the headphone jack support in smartphones.
