Samsung Galaxy S25 series has launched with major camera improvements via the Camera Assistant app, despite limited hardware upgrades.

The Camera Assistant module, part of Samsung’s Good Lock suite, introduces two features: an HDR10+ toggle and external storage support for video recording.

Users can enable or disable HDR10+ video recording directly within the Camera Assistant app, provided that HDR is activated in the stock Camera app’s Advanced Video Options menu. This feature allows users to capture videos with improved color and contrast in Pro Video and Video modes, shifting from 8-bit SDR to 10-bit HDR recording.

Also, the Galaxy S25 series now supports direct video storage to external devices connected via the USB Type-C port. This feature is compatible with various modes in the stock Camera app, including Video, Pro Video, Portrait Video, Slow Motion, and Hyperlapse.
