Galaxy S25 Series Launches with Advanced Video Recording Features
Samsung’s latest Galaxy S25 series introduces 2 new video recording and editing features called “Log Mode” and “Audio Eraser” that use AI technology to enhance video quality and video editing experience for users.
Log Recording
The log mode for video recording feature is developer for content creators. This mode allows users to capture videos with a logarithmic profile, which offers a greater dynamic range and more detail compared to standard recording options.
However, videos recorded in log mode appear flat and desaturated. This mean it require post-production color correction to achieve the desired output.
Users can access the log format mode by navigating to the Camera app, select video mode, and enable log mode through the advanced video options. The Galaxy S25 series also allows for log recording in both Pro and standard video modes.
Additionally, Samsung provides a convenient feature for those who may not wish to edit log videos manually. The Gallery app includes a “Correct color” option, which automatically enhances the colors of log videos to achieve vibrant results without extensive editing.
Audio Eraser
The “Audio Eraser” makes it easy to edit videos by isolating and adjusting various audio elements. It uses the new Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset’s Neural Processing Unit (NPU) to analyze and manipulate sounds in recorded videos.
According to Samsung, this new feature can identify up to 6 distinct sound types: Crowd, Music, Nature, Noise, Voices, and Wind. Users can then adjust the volume of these sounds individually or remove unwanted background noise while keeping important audio elements such as dialogue.
Users can can access the Audio Eraser feature through Samsung Gallery app. To activate, users have to select the Galaxy AI icon beneath any video. Once activated it will display the identified sounds along with their timestamps in the video.
This feature is part of the One UI 7.0 and is available across the entire Galaxy S25 lineup. However, it is still not confirmed whether the new feature will come for other Galaxy devices too.
The Galaxy S25 series is now available for pre-order, with Samsung offering bonuses up to $50 in store credit and additional benefits for early buyers.
