Galaxy Z Fold 6 Excels in Battery Performance Despite Smaller Capacity
Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 6, featuring a 4,400mAh battery, has gained attention for its impressive battery performance by outperforming several competitors with larger battery capacities.
In a recent battery drain test conducted by The Tech Chap on YouTube, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 lasted for 8 hours and 46 minutes, defeating devices like the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold and OnePlus Open.
The battery test involved 6 foldable smartphones:
- The Galaxy Z Fold 6
- Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold (4,650mAh)
- OnePlus Open (4,805mAh)
- Vivo X Fold 3 Pro (5,700mAh)
- Honor Magic V3 (5,150mAh), and
- Oppo Find N5 (5,600mAh)
The test was conducted with the inner and outer displays set at 150 nits brightness, the devices were used to run benchmarks and carry out tasks such as streaming videos and using social media.
In this comparison:
- The OnePlus Open had the shortest battery performance, lasting only 7 hours and 9 minutes
- The Pixel 9 Pro Fold at 7 hours and 33 minutes
- Honor Magic V3 lasting 7 hours and 43 minutes
- The Galaxy Z Fold 6 lasted about 8 hours and 46 minutes
- The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro topped the results with a runtime of 9 hours
- Oppo Find N5 became the winner with a lasting time of 10 hours and 2 minutes.
Despite its smaller battery size, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 outperforming many rivals indicates improved power optimization by Samsung. While there are suggestions for a larger battery in the anticipated Galaxy Z Fold 7, the current model showcases efficient design that meets expectations in performance relative to its capacity.
