New Identity Check Feature Coming to One UI 7 Galaxy Devices
Samsung’s upcoming One UI 7 update will include Google’s new Identity Check feature to improve security for users by preventing unauthorized access to sensitive settings on stolen devices.
Announced in December 2024, the feature requires biometric confirmation to change critical settings like device or account passwords, even if the thief possesses the device’s passcode.
Google has confirmed that Identity Check will be available for Galaxy devices compatible with One UI 7 in the coming weeks. This means that devices eligible for the new software will receive the security feature, regardless of whether they are currently running an older version of One UI.
This update comes alongside the launch of the Android 15-based One UI 7 beta program, which will also include the Identity Check feature. Currently, Samsung Galaxy S25 users will benefit from this feature, while users of non-Samsung devices will have to wait until later this year to get the Identity Check feature.
