However, this can be fixed! All you have to do is follow the methods that we have given in this guide to remove voicemail notifications from your Samsung Galaxy S21 and get around this problem

Even more, we will show you how to disable voicemail notifications entirely from your device in case you need that.

Let’s get started.

Note

This guide also applies to Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S21 Fe, and Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, as well as Snapdragon and Exynos versions.

Method 01 – Restart your device

Restart device

If you have already tapped on the voicemail notification and listened to it, but the notification still remains visible, it can be due to a system glitch or caching issue.

To fix system glitches, the first step you should take is to restart your Galaxy S21. There is no special way to do this. You can restart your device as you normally do.

But you can use this method as well. It is super easy, and you can quickly restart your device.

  1. Press and hold the power key + volume down key for a few seconds, and release the keys once you see the device logo

Once your device is restarted, you will see the voicemail notification is gone.

Method 02 – Clear Samsung call app data

If the previous method did not work, it could be due to cashing problem on the Samsung call/dialer app.

Corrupted caching is a well-known issue for a lot of issues on Android devices. But it is easy to solve. All you have to do is clear the app cache.

Here is how you can do that;

  1. Open Settings
  2. Go to Apps
  3. Tap on the filter button (marked in the image below)
Apps - filter button
  1. Toggle on “Show system apps”
Show System Apps
  1. Scroll down and find the Call app. Then tap on it
  2. Tap on “Force stop”
  3. Go to the Storage section
  4. Tap on Clear cache

Note

If you foung “Call settings” under apps, do the same for it too.

Sometimes, clearing the cache is not just enough to remove corrupted data files. So once you have cleared the cache, check if the voicemail notification is gone. If not, you may have to clear the data of the app as well.

Please note that clearing the app data of the Samsung Call app will remove the call history and configurations you have done inside the app. However, you won’t lose saved contact details.

Clearing the app data is relatively the same as clearing the app cache. Follow the steps below;

  1. Go to Settings > Apps > Tap on the call app as mentioned in the above steps
  2. Tap on Storage
  3. Tap on Clear data
Clear the data of call app
Note

If you foung “Call settings” under apps, do the same for it too.

Method 03 – Disable voicemail notifications and re-enable it

This trick has worked for a lot of Galaxy S21 users. Here you are going to temporarily turn off voicemail notifications and then re-enable them. So if there is any glitch in the notification system, it will be fixed by doing this.

  1. Open the Call app
  2. Tap on the three dots at the top left corner and select “Settings”
  3. Under call settings, tap on “Voicemail”
  4. Then, tap on “Notifications”
Voicemail Notifications
  1. On the top, toggle off “Show notifications” and then re-enable it

See if the annoying voicemail notifications are gone. If you still see them, you can configure notifications or even disable them entirely.

For example, you can turn off voicemail notifications on the lock screen. Just tap on “Lock screen” under the voicemail notification settings (as we have shown in the above steps)
