Steps to Restore the Edge Panel (Sidebar) on Samsung Galaxy S20
Here are the steps that you need to follow in order to get back the missing edge panel on your Galaxy S20 phone:
- Go to Settings.
- Tap on “Display”.

- Scroll down and toggle on the “Edge panel” option.

Now you should see the Edge panel handle on your screen which allows you to open and close the Edge panel. To make the handle more noticeable, you can customize the edge panel handle by following the next section.
How to Make the Edge Panel (Sidebar) Handle More Noticeable
After you enable the Edge panel, you may need to make it more noticeable for you, and for that, Samsung’s One UI has given the ability to customize the Edge panel handle. To access its settings, follow the steps below:
- Go to Settings.
- Tap on “Display”.

- Scroll down and tap on “Edge panels”.

- Then, tap on “Handle”

Inside the “Handle” settings, there are a few options you have to customize it. These are:
- Handle position
- Handle color
- Handle transparency
- Handle size
- Handle width (thickness)
- Options to lock the handle position and make the phone vibrate when the handle is touched.

You can use these options to make the Edge panel handle more noticeable and accessible. Here is how you can do that:
- Change the handle’s position to left or right.
- Drag the handle’s vertical position to up or down.
- Increase the handle’s size (length) and thickness (width).
- Once you have positioned the handle correctly, enable “Lock handle position” so it won’t move from its position accidentally.

- Change the handle’s color. The default color is white.
- Reduce the handle’s transparency to make it bold.
- Enable “Vibrate when handle is touched” so you would feel feedback when you touch it.

By making these changes, you will be able to adjust the Edge panel handle to toggle the Edge panel fast and easily.
In Case the Edge Panel Did Not Show Up After Enabling
You can apply these fixes if the edge panel or its handle does not appear on the screen even after you have enabled it in settings.

You can restart your Samsung Galaxy S20 to fix software glitches causing the edge panel to disappear.
- Press and hold the Power button and Volume down button simultaneously for 10 – 15 seconds. Release the keys after you see the Samsung logo on the screen.

Software update is the best way to fix permanent software bugs causing issues on your phone, such as the Edge panel issue you are having right now. To update the software, follow the steps below:
