Samsung Delays One UI 7.0 Public Release for Galaxy Devices
Samsung has encountered delays in the rollout of its One UI 7.0 update for the Galaxy S24 series and Galaxy Z Fold/Flip 6, with no stable version yet available months after the beta 5 launch. The delay in the stable release of One UI 7.0 has disappointed Samsung users as the Galaxy S25 series is set to launch with this update pre-installed.
Samsung has provided no explanation for the ongoing beta status of existing devices, which contrasts with the timeline for previous software releases. Historically, Samsung has concluded beta programs within two months, facilitating early access to stable builds by year-end.
However, the company stated during the Samsung Developers Conference in October 2024 that the substantial nature of the One UI 7.0 upgrade will postpone its public release until next year.
Current rumors suggest that existing devices might not receive the update until April, with further delays potentially pushing the releases for other eligible devices into mid-summer. The speculation around the delay includes theories that Google might be influencing the rollout pace to manage the integration of new AI features critical to One UI 7.0, or that Samsung might be attempting to drive sales for the Galaxy S25 series.
The update’s delay also raises concerns about the future of One UI 7.1, with limited time for preparation ahead of new foldable releases expected in mid-2025.
