Samsung Galaxy S25 Improves Face Unlock Feature Amid Performance Upgrades
Samsung Galaxy S25 series has introduced performance improvements in its face unlock mechanism. Although the specifications may not suggest a major upgrade over the Galaxy S24, users have reported noticeable improvements in speed and reliability of the face unlock feature, even in low-light conditions.
The Galaxy S25 are equipped with a 12MP front-facing camera. The Galaxy S25 does not have these advanced technology such as a dot projector and IR camera for face mapping. The Galaxy S10 5G was the only Samsung device to incorporate a 3D Time-of-Flight camera for enhanced biometric security. However, this technology has not been included in newer models.
Therefore, its face unlock system lacks the same level of security and may not perform optimally in low-light environments. Despite this, users have observed that the face unlock is faster and works at wider angles compared to previous models, suggesting an unannounced improvement from Samsung.
