Samsung Galaxy S25 Introduces RCS Support in Messaging App
Samsung reintroduces support for Rich Communication Services (RCS) with major U.S. carriers, T-Mobile and Verizon for Galaxy S25 devices . Samsung had previously moved towards Google Messages and had limited RCS functionality in its own messaging app.
Reports from 9To5Google and SammyGuru confirm that the Samsung Messages app ask users to enable RCS, using Google’s RCS implementation. This development indicates a potential change in Samsung’s strategy regarding its messaging apps, possibly favoring Samsung Messages once again.
The reintroduction of RCS support is more beneficial for users who prefer Samsung Messages over Google Messages. It provides them with enhanced messaging features without needing to switch apps, although users can still choose to download Google Messages and set it as their default if they prefer.
Additionally, it remains to be seen whether Samsung will provide options for users who wish to remove the Samsung Messages app entirely from their devices.
