Samsung has officially introduced the Galaxy A16 5G to the U.S. market, expanding its availability beyond the initial launch in select Asian countries in October 2024. The smartphone is set to retail at a starting price of $199 and will be available for purchase starting January 9, 2025, through Samsung’s official website.

The Galaxy A16 5G has a 6.7-inch display with Full HD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. The device is powered by the Exynos 1330 SoC.

In terms of software, the phone comes with Android 14 (One UI 6.1). Samsung will be providing six major updates for this model, a big advantage for budget-conscious consumers. This means users will receive the Android 15 upgrade shortly after its rollout.

The phone has a triple-camera system on the rear, which includes a 50MP primary sensor, a 5MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro camera. For selfies, there’s a 13MP front camera. It has a 5,000mAh battery and supports fast charging at 25W.

In terms of connectivity, A16 4G has 5G support, a USB Type-C port, dual-band Wi-Fi ac, and Bluetooth 5.3. For security, the phone includes a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and it also has IP54 rating, which means it is protected against dust and water splashes.

As per now, RAM and storage specifications that accompany this price point have yet to be disclosed. However, international versions of the Galaxy A16 5G has three models: 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB of RAM, with storage capacities of 128GB and 256GB.
