Fix 02: Force Restart Your Galaxy S22

Like restarting the app resolves any temporary glitches in the app, restarting the device also will fix temporary bugs and system-wide glitches causing apps like the Camera crashing.

  2. Tap on Apps.
  3. Tap on Camera.
  4. Go to Storage.

Fix 04: Run Repair Apps in Recovery Mode

If your Galaxy S22 camera app still doesn’t work after clearing its cached data, it is time to run app optimization in recovery mode.

This app optimization (Known as Repair apps) makes sure the apps installed on your device is working properly and is free from any corruption.

To do this, you need to boot your Galaxy S22 to recovery mode, which is usually done by pressing a specific combination of buttons on your phone while powering it on. These are the steps that you need to follow:

  1. Turn off your device.
  2. Plug a USB cable into the device.
  3. Press and hold the Power key + Volume up keys for a few seconds. When the recovery menu appears, release the keys.

Once you’re in recovery mode:

  1. Select Repair apps, and press the power button.

Once the process is completed, Select Reboot device now and press the power button again to restart the device. Once the device is restarted, open the camera app and see if it works.

Fix 05: Reset All Settings

Resetting all the settings will set all the settings back to their factory settings, but you won’t lose any of your data. This will work if there are any misconfigurations or missing access to the camera app causing it to crash.

All you have to do is:

  1. Go to Settings, then General Management, and select Reset
Reset option Samsung
  1. From there, just select Reset All Settings
Reset all settings

Once the reset is completed, restart your Galaxy S22 and test the camera app.

Fix 06: Do a Software Update

Updating the software is the final fix to take if the camera app still isn’t functioning properly. This is because software updates bring your device up to date, making sure you have the latest features, security updates, and bug fixes at your fingertips.

It’s important to make sure your device is fully charged before you start. That way you will be able to get a higher battery halfway through the process.

Follow these steps to update your Samsung Galaxy S22:

  1. Head over to Settings.
  2. Tap on Battery and device care.
