When it comes to smartphones, one of the most common issues users face every day is the Wi-Fi connection issue. There are also a lot of sub-problems like WiFi connectivity, WiFi speed, WiFi strength, WiFi passwords, etc.

Recently, we saw many complaints in the Samsung community regarding Samsung Galaxy S22. Users say they are experiencing an issue when they try to connect to a WiFi network and access the internet. The error they got was “connected without internet,” which means the S22 is connected to a WiFi network, but can’t access the internet.

Let us try to end that problem here. Is your Samsung S22 connected without internet (to a WiFi network)? Read this guide to know the solutions!

Note: Solutions in this guide will work on any Samsung Galaxy S22 model (S22, S22 Plus, S22 Fe, and S22 Ultra models.)

Editor’s note: We created these instructions using a Samsung Galaxy S22 running Android 12. Depending on your device’s software version, some steps and menu positions may look slightly different.

What is “connected without internet” on Your Samsung Galaxy S22

Why does samsung galaxy s22 give connected without internet error

When you get the error “connected without internet,” it means two things:

  • The WiFi router/repeater has an issue
  • Your smartphone (Galaxy S22, in this case) is having issues with connecting to the specified WiFi network

According to developers, the most common reason is that the WiFi router cannot establish a connection with the ISP (internet service provider) and, thus, cannot connect to the internet. This could be because of overdue payments, poor signals, broken antennas, or even a hardware failure.

On the other hand, the Galaxy S22 could be the problem here. This can be due to a bug within the Android system, a temporary glitch, or because of any interference from a third-party app. However, it is very rare that the Samsung S22 causes the “connected without internet” error.

Fix 01: Restart Your Galaxy S22

First, let’s make sure there is no temporary glitch on your Samsung S22 that causes the internet connection error. To do that, just give a restart to your device.

You can simply restart your Samsung S22 by pressing and holding the power + volume down buttons.

Force restart samsung

Fix 02: Restart the Router

Restart the router

Like what you did to your Galaxy S22, restart your router to make sure that there is no temporary problem on the router.

You can do this by either plugging out the router from the power source and plugging it back in again or logging into the router’s dashboard and tapping the restart button (the procedure could be different depending on the router).

Fix 03: Connect Your Galaxy S22 to Main Router

Checking wifi connection

If you are using a WiFi repeater and you connect to that on your Samsung S22, then you can turn off the repeater and connect to the main router of the WiFi network.

This is because connection issues between the repeater and the main router can cause the repeater to get the internet connection from the main router. If you got rid of the “connected without internet” error by connecting to the main router, then check the connection of the repeater.

Fix 04: Reset Router Settings

Reset the router

This solution could work if you have changed any settings in the WiFi router’s control panel.

By resetting the router’s settings, you will have to set up passwords, and firewall rules again (if you have configured it before).

To reset your router’s settings, do the steps below.

Note: The procedure of resetting the router’s settings could change depending on the router you use.

  1. Type the router’s IP address and login to the dashboard.
  2. Go to settings, then tap on system settings.
  3. Tap on Restore default.
  4. Confirm.

Once you tap on the confirm button, the router will get restarted. After this, you can connect your Galaxy S22 and check if the error is gone.

Fix 05: Reset Network Settings

There can be configuration issues on your Samsung S22’s network settings (due to a software update/third-party app). You can easily revert the settings to factory values by resetting the network settings.

Here is how you can do that:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap on General management.
  3. Tap on Reset.
Reset option samsung
  1. From the reset options, tap on Reset network settings.
Reset network settings
  1. Restart your phone.

Fix 06: Turn Off Power Saving Mode

Power saving mode blocks all the services and third-party processes to conserve the battery on your smartphone. However, the downside of this is it can cause internet connectivity errors.

The solution to this is to turn off the power-saving mode when you want to use WiFi. Go ahead and turn it off.

Fix 07: Contact the ISP

Contact the network provider

The last thing you can do is to get support from the internet service provider (WiFi network provider, you could say).

It is because this issue can occur due to poor signals or overdue payments (as we said earlier). If there is no signal for your area or a repair on the signal towers, your service provider will give you guidance to fix the issue.

Wrapping Up

The “connected without internet” error usually occurs when there is a problem in the WiFi network your Galaxy S22 is connected to. However, we gave you solutions to fix any problem related to this guide in your device itself.
