For social media savvy, notifications are essential when it comes to staying in the loop with loved ones. Whether it’s a quick message from a faraway friend or an update on the latest post from your favorite influencer, notifications are what keep us connected and engaged with our virtual communities.
However, there have been reports that the Samsung Galaxy S23 phone won’t receive social media notifications anymore. Leaving users feeling disconnected from their online worlds and potentially missing out on important updates from their social media networks.

Fix 01: Restart the device
This can help clear out any glitches and temporary bugs that may have been causing the problem.
To do this, press and hold down the power button and select ‘Turn off.’ Once the phone has powered off, turn it back on again by pressing and holding the power button until you see the Samsung logo appear.
Wait for a few minutes as your device restarts itself before checking to see if social media notifications are now being received correctly.
Fix 02: Check Notifications for Blocked Social Media Apps
If any of your social media apps have been blocked in the notification settings, it could prevent the phone from showing notifications for those apps.

To check this:
- Open Settings.
- Tap on Notifications.
- Tap on more under the apps.
Make sure none of your social media apps are turned off here. If they are, tap on the toggle next to the app to unblock notification restrictions.
Fix 03: Update Social Media Apps
If the problem occurs with only one social media app (let’s say it is Twitter), then updating the app could solve the notification issue. It is because updates often contain bug fixes. Therefore, check and install if there is any update for the social media app that you are having notification issues with.
If you don’t know how to update apps, follow the steps below:
- Open Google Play Store.
- On the search bar, type the social media app name you want.
- Tap on the app from the search result.
- Then, tap on Update.
Fix 04: Reset App Preferences
Resetting app preferences will clear all of your existing settings for apps connected to notifications on your Samsung Galaxy S23. So this should fix any issues with receiving notifications from these applications.
To reset app preferences, go into Settings and follow the steps below
- Open Settings and go to Apps.
- Tap on the three dots at the top right corner.
- Select Reset app preferences.
- Confirm.
Fix 05: Check the App Settings of Each Social Media App Individually
If you still don’t receive notifications from social media apps, it’s time to check each social media app individually. This step is important for finding out which settings are preventing notifications from appearing on your device.
Start by opening each of the apps and navigating to their respective notification settings menu.
For example, you can access these options on Facebook through the ‘Profile settings’ menu tab at the top of the Settings option. Once inside, look for a section labeled ‘Notifications’ and make sure all switches are turned ‘On’ so that you receive alerts when someone sends messages or posts updates.
Fix 06: Reset All Settings
If there are any glitches in the notification settings, just removing restrictions won’t fix the issue. In this case, you can try resetting all settings, which will remove every change that you have made to the settings of your Galaxy S23.
To reset all settings, do this:
- Head over to Settings.
- Go to General Management.
- Tap on Reset.
- Tap on Reset all settings.
- Confirm.
Fix 07: Do a Software Update
If none of the above solutions works, then it could be the Android system of your device causing the social media notification not to work. In this case, a software update would be the best solution you could try.
Charge your device up to 80% and then follow the steps below if you want to update your device and see if the problem gets fixed:
- Go to Settings.
- Tap on Software update.
- Then, tap on Download and install.
