Samsung’s Now Bar Feature Downgrades in One UI 7 Beta
Samsung’s latest beta rollout for One UI 7.0 (based on Android 15) has introduced a downgraded “Now Bar” feature. The Now Bar feature aimed to showcase live notifications for activities, such as media playback and navigation directly on the lock screen and notification shade. However, recent One UI 7 beta update have downgraded the functionality of this feature.
Initially, the Now Bar supported notifications from many apps such as Bixby, Clock, Interpreter, Maps, Samsung Health, Voice Recorder, etc. However, in the third beta update Now Bar now only supports notifications from the Clock app, emergency sharing, and Interpreter.
A representative from the Samsung US community forums clarified that this alteration was made as part of a planned refinement process. The intention is to improve the Now Bar before its stable release with One UI 7.
As the beta program for the Galaxy S24 lineup continues, we will be able to see the official unveiling of the finalized version soon. Users will also be able to see the first glimpse of the updated Now Bar functionality in Galaxy S25 series reveal.
