According to Android Authority, Samsung has added a new custom wake word feature to its voice assistant Bixby for the recently launched Galaxy S25 series.

This update is available on devices running One UI 7 and allows users to replace the old wake words “Bixby” or “Hi, Bixby” with a personalized word of their choice. However, it is important to note that the recognition accuracy for custom phrases may not match the reliability of the default wake words.

To activate the custom wake word, users can navigate to:

  1. Settings.
  2. Tap on “Advanced features”.
  3. Select Bixby.
  4. Go to Labs.
  5. Enable the “Create wake-up phrase” option.

The setup process involves selecting the desired wake word and repeating it several times to train the device for optimal recognition.

It is worth mentioning that the feature does not permit the use of wake words associated with other voice assistants, such as “Hey Google,” “Alexa,” or “Siri.” Additionally, users have the option to delete the audio recordings used for training the custom wake word.

This latest update reflects Samsung’s commitment to enhancing user personalization and interaction with its devices, further integrating Bixby into the everyday life of Galaxy S25 owners.
